A French Louis XVI style bed in carved beechwood with a walnut finish is from the early 20th century. It is called a lit en bateau in French due to it shape, curving out on both the headboard and footboard. It is nicely carved with an over all fish scale and gadrooning as well as acanthus leaves, fluting and floral motifs.
The bed could have the rails extended if it is too short for your use. If it had a platform level with the top of the rails, it would be ideal to float a queen sized mattress on. It has not been reupholstered and is sold for the frame only.
